I Was Nominated For A Liebstar Award!

Here are the 11 questions I was tagged in, I want to thank Ur Pretty Haute for nominating*cyber bows*.

What do you enjoy most about blogging?
The creation aspect of blogging is always the most entertaining and fun. I love brainstorming about how to do a specific new post, putting together the outfit or alter ego shoot.

What beauty routine can you not leave home without doing?
Moisturizing my skin. No lotion is a no go, as in I refuse to leave ashy.

What's your favourite colour?
I can only choose but, black comes in at a close second and blue comes in for 3rd.

How many pairs of shoes do you own?
   I don't know, I know it's more than 12 I have a lot of sneakers and boots.

You win an all expense paid vacation of your choice, where would you go?
    Somewhere tropical, the Caribbean.

What is the most challenging part of blogging?
Making sure you've shared your content. Sometimes I don't feel like tweeting my blog posts or sharing to Facebook especially if I think it's not making a difference, but I know deep down it does.

What is your most recent fashion purchase?
    A striped maxi dress.

If you could learn a random skill, what would it be?
Playing the ukulele, I love the sound of it.

What's something people would be surprised to know about you?
I was obsessed with becoming a Disney child star in middle school, because of how badly I wanted to  avoid going to high school.

Whats thing have you not done, that you really want to?
Go to blogging events, my transportation is not the most reliable so I don't really get to go to them, but I'd love to try.

What's your basic life philosophy?
Life is too short to be unhappy.

Peter Pan and I Could of Been Besties

It's a been quite some time since I've done a text heavy post and honestly I've been kind of avoiding it.  I will be 19 years old on Aug.16th this year and I'm less than thrilled. I don't want to entirely confront the changes and lack of change I'm facing right now, but I need to accept my present and simply look forward to the future.I have always had a list of things I was supposed to achieve by 18 and I only achieved a few(this is me admittedly being ungrateful). Many people don't accomplish the things I have in 18 years due to circumstances and situations not of their control, such as being accepted to the university of their choice, let alone being accepted to a university at all(another thing I've taken for granted). Although my achievements are good and I should be happy I've gotten this far, these's this nagging critic raining on what should be my party. Celebrating what I have achieved in my 19 years is a struggle because this attachment to what I initially wanted to be by now is so strong.
I've come to acknowledge the best way to eliminate this issue, is to get rid of the time factor, not the bucket list. Goals are stand alone events, they have a spotlight of their own. How old you are by the time you achieve your goal, doesn't necessarily affect it, as long as you have achieved it,should be the main focus. Time is all in the mind, it's a man-made thing. God doesn't run on the schedule we do, therefore certain things will not be done in the manner we want them but as long as we put in the effort they will be done, that's what matters.
Eliminating my time constraints is a freeing feeling. Just because my goal isn't done on the time I wanted it to be that doesn't mean I still can't do it, that doesn't mean the dream is dead. Dreams only grow old and die when you let them, not because of the hands on a clock. I refuse to let my dreams simply fade because they didn't happen at a specific time.My dreams belong to me therefore they will never run late, because they run with me.This year I'm truly understanding what it means to embody the spirit of a dreamer, it's accepting both an eternity of uncertainty and scrutiny but it's also gaining the talent for creation, originality and enjoying your independent view on things. Dreamers are not just these people couch surfing every other night, and slacking. They are people who believe in their own specific vision and live in their own world where time doesn't matter and accepting defeat is unheard of. I am on the cusp of being 19 and have recently learned how to dream.

DIYs are Taking Over My Closet

I recently indulged in DIY projects as my closet has been less than inspiring. I grabbed a pair of scissors and tackled into my closet and decided to recycle my less than lovable pieces and bag the ones that will be sent to better homes. I cut the sleeves off the jersey worn in this outfit, and have a pair of skinnies I damaged that will be shown in tomorrow's ootd that I'm now in love with! The jersey is ridiculously old as in 6th grader version of me old, but it still fits and it goes great with the sporty glam trend right now. The pants worn are from Fashion Bug as well!

Lessons in Blogging

When I initially began this blog I wanted it to be a personal style blog, with a zeroed in focus on fashion, of course the blog has expanded into the lifestyle genre. I still like sharing my personal taste in fashion with you guys from time to time. I decided to share a few tips I've found looking at other personal style blogs in an attempt to improve my own personal style section of the blog.

  •     Leave outfit descriptions below your look to answer questions like, what provoked you to pick out this look or is there a specific occasion for this particular look?
  • Leave the brand and or store you bought the clothes from in the description below. When you leave the brand or store below, you make it easier for the reader to be able to choose something similar or perhaps they're interested in a store that sells clothes like the ones you're sharing.
  • Recycled outfits are still worthy of sharing, when I say this I mean imagine you've already shared a particular look, but this time you're wearing it with added jewelry and a different skirt. I,personally love seeing a personal style blogger get two looks out of one item. One of my favorite things about picking out looks, is exercising my creativity. I think too myself "I've worn this one way, now how can I completely change it and still fit it to my style".Besides who realistically buys something with the intention of never wearing it again(I love my clothes too much to disband them after wearing them just once).
  • When sharing outfit posts on Twitter mention the brand or store in the tweet, brands often retweet to show their followers how you wore the item in question, which means more viewership for you.
  • Not everyone is going to like your personal style, and get as ecstatic about an outfit like you do and that's ok. You have to have tough skin as a personal style blogger, and remember it's YOUR PERSONAL style, not your readers. You can read about handling negativity in the video I've recently done here, You Can't Sit With Us
That's all the tips, I have as far as personal style blogging, leave any of your tips you've discovered below in the comments! Bye guys!

Inspired by Amanda C. Watson

I was recently inspired by Amanda C. Watson of  personal style blog Done n Done. I loved the combination of stripes and denim, I just put my own slight spin on it, using a striped maxi dress instead of a midi length dress.Check out Amanda's look to see where I was coming from, AMANDA'S LOOK.Yes I was trying to get my model moves together at least briefly lol, the lighting was encouraging.

I Was Born To Be A Superhero Didn't You Know?

I decided to try and put my spin on these 7 year year old pants(I got these pants in the 7th grade and they still fit!) I added the leather vest for spunk and would this look really be me without dark lipstick? Read the captions of the pictures to explain my expressions, mind you I was watching Power Puff Girls in the process of taking these pictures.

I sat down here to do one pose, got uncomfortable and the timer snapped this instead.

Bubbles and Buttercup just cut Blossom's hair smh.

Enjoy my candid pictures and boredom, leave a comment below as well, oh yea and get ready for an ootd inspired by Amanda C. Watson of Done n Done

The Bodycon Skirt Is Not Dead

One kind of skirt, 4 different looks! I love showing the versatility in often overlooked and underrated items like the bodycon skirt.

In this look I decided to use the grey bodycon skirt as a neutral in this simply, flirty and feminine look. The grey skirt adds shape and is perfect to let the blouse stand out on it's own.

In this look, I decided to pull out my bright blue/purple skirt and show how it can be used as a pop of color. This look is fun and party ready. I decided to give you 80s vibes, which I love.

In this look we're back to ye old neutral grey skirt, because it's perfect for this glam sporty look I've been dabbling in a lot, (you can see how I've been taking on the sporty glam look here, Neon Is Taking Over The World it's the first look.)

Time for the transition to the Fall and Winter season! I decided to show how I layer up the bodycon skirt so I can wear it even when the weather cools down.

I hope this post inspired you not to retire your bodycon skirts, they still have as much use left as they have stretch!

Self Esteem On Your Screen Episode 3: Believing In Yourself

You built a brand, you built an image, you had a vision, now believe in it. Believing in yourself can seem really difficult, when you can't seem to see success at the end of all your work, but in this video I'll show you why you need to push through that mental block.

Summer Look Book 2013 Part Deux!

Hey guys, I decided to share with you guys a part 2 to some of my favorite Summer looks I've seen! By the way, I'm working on an updated Alter Ego Photo Shoot, I'm really excited about!

Motorcycle jackets and dresses are some of my favorite combinations in the Winter time, so how could I translate one of my favorite looks into the Summer?Wear a motorcycle vest instead of the  full on jacket to keep my edginess without melting! I was inspired to try this look by Amanda Dube of YouTube Channel Amanda Dubehere, in one of her latest videos you can watch HERE.

Print shorts are practically a mandatory buy for the Summer! The shorts keep you cool and comfortable and the print adds character. Whether plaid, polka dot or floral print shorts are clearly here to stay and for good reason!

Peplum was a trend that I predicted in early 2012, but I had no idea the trend would last this long and I'm happy to say it has. I love this combination between the Aztec print and the texture in the peplum top, it feels feminine and fun!

Crossbody bags are the accessories that do 2 jobs. The bag poses as both a necklace and a bag, the added sequins to the purse is just a great bonus!

I hope you enjoyed part 2 of my Summer Look Book, let me know which of these looks was a favorite of your's in the comment section and be sure to follow me on bloglovin!
