Nobody's Perfect

I started getting caught up in comparing my blog to others and falling into the negativity that spawns from comparing yourself to other people.Thankfully I can make this recognition and never fall into that cycle again because in the end, blogging isn't a competition nor is life a competition at all.Everyone's path is different, everyone will have their shine at different times and someday I'll have mine, but right now I'm focusing on being happy in the present.
I'm striving to outdo my own personal best which means establishing a blog schedule, creating original riveting content, doing more of what makes me happy without fear of critique and without pressure.

I Keep Buying Shoes

I had an obsession with lace up wedge shoes and I finally have a pair of my own! I purchased these beauts from none of other than Boo Hoo(that free shipping is so seductive, man) and have plenty of plans for them. I'm so ecstatic about wearing these puppies, I instantly went to Polyvore so I could visually decide on what looks to do.

Lace-up booties are immensely versatile especially a pair in a neutral color such as these.
The Will of Wedges

The looks above are perfect for fun in the Sun but each have their own little personality. You can see the defined differences in the accessory choices and the silhouettes of each look. I'm happy I took to Polyvore to help me experiment with my options(it also helps stretch your dollar buy playing with the versatility of it all).Do you use Polyvore to help give you an idea on what to wear with some of your new purchases?

Detailed Desire

Recently, I saw a Boo Hoo commercial featuring this t-shirt dress and for some reason it made me love the t-shirt that much more. Besides me explaining my love for this outfit and the t-shirt dress in particular, can we discuss how awesome quilted detail in clothing really is. For some odd reason, quilted details gives me glamour realness, let me explain.
I associate the quilted details with some of the early Coco Chanel bags which oozed glamour, called the Chanel 2.55 which was launched after the second World War in Feb.1955(hence the name 2.55). The quilted Chanel handbag has an untarnished image which has clearly withstood the test of time. I admire the bag for it’s constant association with classic fashion and aspire to develop a similar appeal in my wardrobe. What specific clothing item or detail has inspired your wardrobe in one way or another, let me know in the comment section!

Retail Therapy Recognition

I believe in retail therapy. There’s this release of tension or a momentary lack of stress after purchasing something whether big or small. Retail therapy is a little bit like emotional eating, it’s all about comfort. You might be wondering what’s comforting about shopping?
Well when you shop you enter a store, typically you arrive with the intention to covet something. Sometimes we covet things in the store but don’t capture, but when you shop and actually purchase the thing you initially was going to wait on until it’s on sale there’s this feeling of satisfaction. Don’t abuse the retail therapy treatment because there’s a thin line between a therapeutic buy and addiction, but that’s for another post.

Lets take a moment and reflect on what we buy when we’re trying release tension. For some odd reason the first thing on my mind when I’m trying to release stress is buying a pair of print leggings, hence the leggings I have above.

Print leggings are so easy to slip on speaks volumes easily. In the look above I’m wearing several forms of subtle black and then some bold floral print leggings, that stand out against the black canvas of the look.I bought these leggings for the very goal of standing out(and because I took comfort in knowing I have a go-to pair of leggings). Do you believe in retail therapy? Do you have comfort clothing?
